Après avoir réussi mon pari un peu fou de modifier des Four winds 1 dollar en 0.10c MGM, on m’a posé la question comment exactement j’avais réussi cet hybride.
Évidement, je vais ici vous expliquer pas à pas comment j’ai procéder à ce changement.

After having successfully completed my project of changing 1 dollar Four Winds to 0.10c MGM, I have been asked the specifics of how exactly this hybrid was made. Here it is, step by step.

Petit un il vous faudra les jetons de votre choix ! Je vous conseil de procédes à des essais virtuel, c’est à dire de faire un petit montage pour bien vous rendre compte de ce que cela peut donner.

First off, choose your chip of choice. I would suggest a computer mockup, mounting your desired inlay on a virtual background of the desired chip in order to get a feel for the finished product.

Je vous conseil aussi de poster vos réalisations sur des forums spécialisés, cela permet d’être conseiller pour vos créations. Prenez toujours des jetons qui vont s’associer facilment avec votre set.

I would suggest posting your mockups in specialized forums where feedback may be given to better the design. Ideally, the chips chosen should go well with your existing set.

Pour trouver des jetons, le mieux reste Ebay, vous trouverez multitude de choix

Potential chips are easily found on eBay where there are tons of choices.

Une fois votre choix terminé rien ne vaut une petite projection, prenez votre imprimante imprimé l’inlay avec un contour de 23 mm, puis découper l’inlay et coller le avec une vulgaire colle à papier pour que votre projection soit la plus précise :

Once you have chosen your chip, nothing is better than a real world mockup. Print the inlay with a 23 mm contour, cut it out and stick it on with some cheap glue (ex. glue for sticking paper together), taking care to properly center it:

Il ne vous reste plus qu’à passer par l’étape la plus chaude !

If you are happy with it, on to the “hot” step!

Munissez vous d’un tournevis pour horloger, d’une bouilloire, d’un lavabo
Puis faite tremper 20 jetons (environ) dans l’eau bouillante ! Je vous conseil de faire tourner sans arrêt la bouilloire, plus vos jetons seront mou mieux vous vous en sortirez.
En effet, une fois bien chaud, les jetons deviennent plus facile à modifier.

You will need a clock screwdriver (watchmaker screwdriver?), a boiling pot and a sink.
Put about 20 chips in the boiling water!! Stir the water continuously and the chips will soften. The softer they are, the easier it will be.
Actually, once hot, the chips are much easier to modify.
I tested this on my old MGM 1$ and the result was horrible.

Sans l’étape du bain chaud, vous n’aurez jamais un résultat extraordinaire.

Without the hot bath, you will never get as good a result.

Maintenant la phase la plus délicate, il vous faudra passer votre tournevis entre l’inlay et le jeton, vous aller dans les premiers, souvent vous tromper.

Next is the most delicate aspect of this operation: passing the screwdriver between the existing inlay and the chip. You will probably make quite a few mistakes on your first attempts.

Vous aller mettre votre tournevis à la vertical puis glisser votre tournevis dans le jeton, attention à ne pas trop enfoncé le tournevis !
Vous risquez d’arriver à ce résultat :

Place the screwdriver vertically/perpendicularly and slide the head into the chip. Be careful not to go too deep into the chip!
Otherwise this will be the result:

Là c’est un des pires, il y a peu de chance que vous évitiez ce résultat, car les premiers, on n’y va un peu à l’aveugle! Cependant après quelques essai vous arriverez régulièrement à ce résultat :

This is actually one of the worst ones. Catastrophes are unavoidable because the first go arounds are trial and error. However, after a few successes, you will achieve this result on a regular basis:
On peut à peine voir ou j’ai rentrer le tournevis.
Pour décoller l’inlay, il vous faut maintenant légèrement remonté le tournevis, avec la chaleur l’inlay devrait venir tout seul. Vous aller le découvrir il y a deux couches une pellicule transparente, et l’impression numérique.
Normalement cela doit bien venir, si ce n’est pas le cas retremper les jetons.
Lorsque vous aurez enlever tous les inlays :

To remove the inlay, carefully raise the screwdriver. Heated, the inlay should come up by itself. You will notice 2 layers: a transparent overlay and the printed image itself.
Normally the removal should be straightforward, if not, just dip back in the heated water.
Once all the inlays are removed:

Vous pourrez commander vos labels, une fois reçu passer au montage :

Order your desired inlays and apply!:

Puis admirer votre résultat :
Then sit back and admire the result! :

Je vous souhaite bon courage, car c’est long, fastidieux, mais l’attente, le résultat est plutôt correct, cela vaut le coup si vous êtes en manque d’une valeur. Cela peut éviter de payer un rack 800$ alors qu’un petit tour de pass pass peu combler votre set de casino.

I wish all who do this good luck because it is a long and fastidious process. Despite the time required, when you see the results, it will be worth it especially when you are missing that long sought denomination.
A little finagling will allow you to complete your set, thus avoiding paying 800$ for a particular rack.
